Aurora

Aurora and NHS President Dave Coyle

Aurora

When Aurora, a husky/malamute mix, was picked up she tested positive for heartworms and also had other medical problems.  After further tests it was determined that she indeed had cancer, but it could be treated.  Her heartworms was also treatable, but she needed to put on some weight and get stronger before anything could be done.

Then this wonderful couple happen to drive by and saw Aurora  in the front yard. They stopped and asked about her fate.  They were very relieved to hear that money had been raised to treat her but we needed a foster home for her to go through the treatment and rest up.  Dave went home and discussed the situation with his wife, Sally, and they decided that this was something that was right up their alley!

Peanut butter toast with Dave every AM. started the morning routine, and before long Aurora was ready for adoption.  Yes, you guessed it, Aurora not only shared their home but she stole their hearts and they became her new forever home!  Dave and Sally became two new dedicated volunteers and continue to help at fundraising events and as foster parents for very young puppies and kittens!  We thank them from the bottom of our hearts!
