About Us
The Nassau Humane Society (NHS) is a no-kill, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Fernandina Beach, Florida. NHS proudly rescues cats and dogs from overcrowded kill-shelters to avoid unnecessary euthanasia, disaster and emergency relief situations, and we routinely take in strays and surrenders to aid our community. NHS provides these animals with necessary medical care and socialization to prepare them for their forever homes. We also offer volunteer and foster programs, a community food bank, and more.

Nassau Humane Society is dedicated to the humane treatment of all animals; to alleviate their suffering and neglect, to support the human-animal bond, and to foster an environment in which people respect all living creatures.
